Over the past several years, I've dined at MRKT Sea & Land around eight times with my family, and each experience has been memorable. Our most recent visit was on May 25, 2024, and this time, I made sure to capture the moment in a review. We had a reservation but arrived about 40 minutes early. Given the restaurant's popularity, we had to wait until closer to our reservation time to be seated.
When the time came, we were promptly escorted to our table by the ever-friendly hostesses. To start the evening, we enjoyed a Classic Old Fashioned, a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, and a Shirley Temple. The bread service, featuring scrumptious pretzel bread, remains a family favorite since our first visit.
Our meal included Crab Cakes and Crab Chowder for appetizers, followed by a Bone-In Ribeye, 10 oz Filet Mignon, Salmon, Sautéed Spinach, Grilled Asparagus, Mashed Potatoes, and a decadent Chocolate Cake paired with an Espresso Martini for dessert. The Crab Cakes were good but didn't quite match the excellence of previous visits. The Crab Chowder was tasty, though it didn't outshine a traditional Clam Chowder. The Bone-In Ribeye was exceptional and offered great value compared to the USDA Prime Ribeye. The Filet, while tender, lacked a robust char and seasoning. The Salmon was superb, according to one of our diners. The sides were outstanding, and dessert was a hit with the entire family.
Over the years, we've also enjoyed a variety of other dishes, including New York Steak, Prime Rib, Herb Roasted Chicken, USDA Prime MRKT Steak Burger, USDA Prime Ribeye Steak, USDA Prime New York Steak, Alaskan King Crab, Lobster Tail, French Onion Soup, Sautéed Wild Mushrooms, Green Beans Almondine, Mac and Cheese, Baked Potato, Sweet Potato, and Creamed Corn. Most of these items were excellent, though specific details escape me now.
Service at MRKT Sea & Land has always been top-notch. While I don't recall every server we've had, our recent server, Michael F, was particularly attentive and professional. The restaurant's décor continues to be eclectic and inviting, with well-spaced tables ensuring privacy. I noticed the absence of a previous fire display in the middle of the restaurant; its simpler replacement is nice, but the original feature added a unique charm.
The prices at MRKT are reasonable, befitting its status as Aliante's premier steakhouse. I also appreciate the restaurant’s support for servicemembers and veterans. Overall, while MRKT may not be my top choice for off-strip steakhouses, it offers a delightful dining experience with elegance and fine dining at a respectable price. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
