This experience was truly fantastic! For four decades, I watched in awe as excavators effortlessly maneuvered on a nearby project, handling massive boulders with ease and even managing delicate tasks with precision. I always longed to operate one, but friends who owned backhoes never permitted me to try—so discovering Dig This Las Vegas during my search for activities was a dream come true! While it is a bit pricey, the experience is absolutely worth it. I opted for the largest machine available, just short of the extreme size, and chose the longest session possible. Opportunities like this don't come often, especially for someone in their sixties wanting to handle such powerful equipment! I initially had some apprehension as I was guided by a petite, soft-spoken instructor instead of a loud, burly figure as I had imagined. However, Heather turned out to be amazing! Her patience and guidance were invaluable as she walked me through each part of the process while capturing incredible photos and videos of my big moment. I'm grateful I chose the extended session since it took me some time to master the controls. For those with video game experience, this might come easier—I, on the other hand, took a few extra moments to get used to the joysticks. Trying this was a joy. It was a must-do item on my bucket list, one I feared I'd never get to tick off. There’s also a section for children which was bustling with young ones. This place could be a perfect spot for the Heavy Equipment Union to organize 'field days' for kids.

Visitors can operate real excavators and bulldozers on a supervised construction playground rather than merely watching the machines work.
About Dig This Las Vegas
Dig This turns heavy equipment into a hands-on attraction with safety instruction, in-cab training and continuous coaching over a headset. Participants learn basic controls before tackling activities such as digging trenches, stacking objects or maneuvering through equipment-specific challenges. No commercial license or prior operating experience is required.
The signature Big Dig experiences typically run about 90 minutes. Excavator sessions begin at age 12, while bulldozer and the more intensive Aggression Session require participants to be at least 14; younger children have separate kid-sized digging options beginning at age 2. Because the equipment and tasks differ, families should match the reservation to each participant's age rather than assuming everyone can share the same session.
This is one of the pricier participatory attractions in Las Vegas, with standard heavy-equipment experiences starting in the several-hundred-dollar range. It is outdoors and can be dusty or hot, so wear closed-toe shoes and practical clothing, and review the current weather, waiver and footwear requirements before arrival.
