About Flamingo Wildlife Habitat

The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat is a free, four-acre garden behind Flamingo Las Vegas where visitors can see Chilean flamingos, rescued brown pelicans, ducks, turtles and koi among ponds, islands and waterfalls. It is one of the easiest free, family-friendly stops on the center Strip.

Hours and best time to visit

The habitat is outdoors and generally open daily from dawn to dusk. Mornings are usually cooler and more comfortable for walking and photography. Keeper talks and pelican feedings have traditionally been offered during the day, but confirm the current presentation schedule at the habitat because times can change.

What to expect

  • Free admission and an all-ages setting
  • Roughly 20 to 45 minutes for an unhurried visit
  • Flamingos plus pelicans, waterfowl, turtles and several kinds of fish
  • Tropical landscaping, streams and small waterfalls
  • Outdoor paths that may be warm, damp or crowded at peak times

The collection is accredited by the Zoological Association of America, and the garden is recognized as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. It is a worthwhile short detour even for visitors who are not staying at Flamingo.

What a delightful experience at the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat! This exhibit is a hidden gem at Flamingo Hotel. It's a charming and simple setup, with flamingos and other animals and fish to admire. I definitely recommend taking the time to visit. For a more peaceful experience, try to go during the week in the morning to beat the crowds.

Very small but nice habitat. It’s free to enter and look around so nothing to complain about. There’s not a lot of flamingos so don’t expect to see an abundance of them. I think there’s more ducks, birds, and fishes than there are flamingos. We went on a non busy day and got to take a lot of pictures.

After a day of shopping and playing, it's the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. Watching the birds chirping and the fish swimming is a tranquil experience.
