About The Big Apple Coaster

The Big Apple Coaster climbs through New York-New York’s miniature skyline before dropping 203 feet and reaching speeds above 67 mph. Its 180-degree heartline twist and dive maneuver are visually distinctive, and portions of the track run outside above pedestrian areas and the casino complex.

A single ride currently costs $25, a same-day re-ride is $10 and a priority-access Scream Pass costs more. Riders must be at least 54 inches tall without shoes. Operations are scheduled daily from 11 a.m. to midnight but can pause for weather or maintenance, and guests should join the line at least 30 minutes before closing.

The coaster has an aggressive, older-style ride feel that thrill seekers may enjoy but motion-sensitive guests may find uncomfortable. The adjacent Big Apple Arcade is open to families and does not require meeting the coaster height restriction.

A fun 3-minute ride that was offered as part of my Go City pass. If you have a bag or purse, you are required to rent a locker for an additional $1 (cash or credit card only) for up to 1 hour. At the end of the ride, you can purchase an extra ride for $10. The height minimum is 54 inches. I'm not sure of the max but a rider had to be reseated due to his height.

Is it worth twenty-five dollars? Yes, definitely. If you're looking for a thrilling experience with a group of friends, The Big Apple Coaster is a great choice. It offers two big drops and a corkscrew that goes into a loop-the-loop, making for an exciting ride. While the price for a single ride may be a bit steep, it's a must-try at least once. I personally wouldn't go again right away, but I'm happy I had the chance to experience it.

I have been on many roller coasters, but I will say this is a very good one. With it being a ride in the Las Vegas strip, it was just a great bonus. I will warn that they will not let you take anything loose and will make you put everything in a locker, so go through the line and show your digital tickets on your phone first and get the e-ticket tags before you lock your phone and all your stuff in a locker. The lockers are only $1, so it's not a big deal either way.
