About The Las Vegas Strip

The Las Vegas Strip is a roughly four-mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard lined with megaresorts, casinos, theaters, restaurants, shopping districts and some of the city’s most recognizable architecture. Its identity comes from constant contrast: themed landmarks and surviving mid-century icons sit beside immense digital displays, luxury towers and active construction.

Walking is the most immersive way to explore a small section, but resort scale makes distances deceptive. Choose a cluster—south Strip, center Strip or north Strip—and allow time for bridges, escalators, casino floors and indoor detours. The Deuce bus, Monorail and free resort trams can reduce walking, though none serves every destination directly.

Many of the strongest sights are free from public areas, including resort façades, fountains, conservatories, shopping interiors and exterior digital displays. Casinos themselves are open only to adults for gaming, but families can move through most public resort routes and visit age-appropriate attractions. Keep minors away from gaming positions.

Summer daytime heat can make even a short walk unsafe. Carry water, use indoor routes and avoid treating neighboring hotels on a map as a quick stroll. At night, remain alert around traffic, unofficial vendors and crowded crossings. Clark County designates pedestrian bridges as continuous-flow zones, so do not stop there for posed photographs.

There is no single opening time or ticket for the Strip. Treat every show, attraction, restaurant and pool as a separate venue with its own reservation and access rules. A satisfying first visit usually covers fewer properties in greater depth instead of attempting the entire corridor in one day.
