Sahara Las Vegas Resort and Casino

From the boutique aura of the Alexandria tower, with its separate entrance and rooftop pool, to the Vegas-nostalgia of the Blanca tower, each tower at Sahara Las Vegas is an experience of its own. As befits a Vegas icon, the casino is a marvel, with almost 60,000 square feet of gaming, including hundreds of slots machines, both video and reel, and 40 exciting table games. While Sahara may not offer the largest selection of dining options, the destinations available are sure to make your mouth water. Bazaar Meats by Jose Andres offers great plates for the carnivore in all of us. Prendi is great for Italian cuisine, and at Chickie and Pete’s you can experience the best sports bar in North America while snacking on quality American fare. Bars and lounges abound for you to quench your thirst. And, lest we forget, the Sahara is home to the Magic Mike Live Show. Add to all this a fabulous spa, a fitness center, and some lovely pools, and it’s easy to see why everything is hot at the Sahara.

The casino at the Sahara is a fabulous place to spend a bit of travel money and time. Chandeliers hang from the ceiling and rich colors decorate the walls. And is when it comes to slot machines you can't beat the choices available at the casino at the Sahara. You'll find all your old favorites and a wide selection of new reels including the most trendy slot machines on the market. As an added incentive, once you cash in your ticket after play you will be asked if you would like to donate your change to 1 of 4 selected local charities, so even if you come out behind the game you can feel good about yourself knowing you've done something for someone else. Table games? You can find all your favorites among the 50 tables scattered around the floor. Let the roulette wheel turn into some good luck for you. Play a little craps or try a hand of poker, the choices are almost limitless.

Sahara is located on the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip, which sees less foot traffic due to slightly further distances between resorts when compared to south and center strip. That being said, the locations below can still be accessed extremely easily without the need for a car.

What I Liked Most

What I Disliked

I'm torn between giving this place 2 or 3 stars. While the price feels somewhat justified, the photos online made the rooms seem much more appealing than they actually are. The lobby and the rest of the hotel have a nice appearance, but the room itself was underwhelming upon closer look. The decor felt outdated and was far from what was advertised. Instead of artwork, there was a giant printed carpet awkwardly Velcroed to the wall. There was an eerie girl on the wall that seemed to follow you with her eyes. The shower and bathroom area offered ample space, but I was still left unimpressed, and I had reservations as I made my way to my floor. Online images and videos portray the rooms as more attractive than they are in reality. On a positive note, the room featured a large TV and a spacious couch for convenience. Three tables were also available for extra surface area. The lighting was mediocre, the view was passable, and the bed provided moderate comfort. However, it's not suitable for families considering the mirrored ceiling above the bed and the see-through glass window between the bedroom and shower. For couples, it might suffice if you're willing to overlook the flaws to save some money, but I wouldn't choose to stay here again.

What I Liked Most

What I Disliked

The hotel offered a pleasant stay overall. The presence of smokers in the casino was a bit off-putting, but it's not unusual to find such things in that environment. The Blanca Tower rooms stood out with their distinctive designs, featuring sliding mirrors that cleverly concealed various parts of the space. The decor was modern, highlighted by appealing colors, and featured a nice fridge. I was quite impressed. There were ample lounge areas for relaxation and a rooftop pool, which was a plus. Should I visit Vegas again, I’d definitely consider returning here.

What I Liked Most

What I Disliked

I've visited the Sahara in Las Vegas multiple times and have generally enjoyed my stays. The prices are usually reasonable, there's convenient access to the monorail, and the rooms have typically been clean, stylish, and comfortable. However, during my most recent stay in February 2025, I encountered an unresolved issue with one of the two rooms I booked. This room was missing sheets, had no curtains despite a track for them, and the bathroom door did not close properly. The second room, fortunately, met the usual high standards. Having a discrepancy in room quality made the start of the trip challenging. I am giving the hotel an overall rating of 3 stars, which averages my experiences: typically 5 stars, but most recently 2 stars due to this particular stay's disappointment.

What I Liked Most

What I Disliked

I recently stayed at the Sahara in Las Vegas for one night and found the experience quite pleasant. The room was clean, smoke-free, and spacious, providing plenty of room for belongings. The shower had excellent water pressure, and amenities included a mini fridge and two large mirrors, which were perfect for getting ready. The customer service was outstanding, and the food at the Noodle Den was quite enjoyable (see picture!). The free parking was a great perk compared to the $20/day parking fees further along the Strip. Although the hotel is a bit further from the heart of the Strip, there is convenient access to a monorail stop within the casino/hotel. The walk is manageable unless you're in a hurry, and Uber rides are reasonably priced if needed. Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here!

What I Liked Most

What I Disliked

The room was excellent, but the service left much to be desired. I called twice to request blankets and waited for 2 hours, despite assurances that someone would come immediately, but no one arrived. Additionally, the room was short on toiletries, offering only a small tube that wasn't sufficient for one person. Pros: - Renovated rooms and hotel - Free parking - Monorail stop - Quiet atmosphere compared to other bustling hotels Cons: - Poor service - Location is a bit further from the rest of the Strip

What I Disliked

Check-in at Sahara in Las Vegas was quick and seamless. Initially, my room had a minor issue with the lighting, but the front desk promptly addressed it by upgrading me to a suite. The customer service was outstanding and genuinely appreciated. The room was clean and offered a fantastic view of the strip. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were just right. The casino was tidy and had an excellent selection of gaming options. While I don't partake in drinking, the bar was conveniently located, offering great service and drinks for others in my group. Although there is a pool, we didn't use it due to the chilly weather during our stay. The valet service was efficient, and the monorail conveniently located at Sahara took us all the way to MGM, which was perfect for attending a concert there. I would definitely choose to stay here again, as the Sahara truly is a hidden gem on the strip.
