About Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino

Downtown Grand occupies Third Street between Ogden and Stewart, about a minute's walk from the Fremont Street Experience. The Mob Museum is across the street, while Fremont East, Downtown Container Park, and the area's older casinos are easy to reach on foot. Being just outside the pedestrian mall helps the property feel less hectic than a room directly beneath the Fremont canopy, although downtown street and event noise can still carry.

Accommodations are spread among multiple towers, and the experience varies by category. The Gallery Tower is the more contemporary choice, while Grand and Casino Tower rooms cover a broader range of conventional rooms and suites. This is a useful place to compare the exact room and tower rather than automatically booking the cheapest rate, particularly if updated finishes, a view, or a shorter walk matters.

The casino is compact and approachable compared with a Strip megaresort, offering slots, video poker, table games, and a Caesars Sportsbook. Dining includes Triple George Grill, the casino-floor Furnace Bar, and nearby Pizza Rock, with many additional restaurants within a few downtown blocks. The smaller scale makes it easy to move between the room, gaming floor, and neighborhood, but it does not provide the enormous restaurant and entertainment roster of a major Strip property.

Citrus Grand Pool Deck is the standout amenity, with more than 35,000 square feet of rooftop space, a swimming pool, cabanas, daybeds, lawn games, and skyline views. The hotel currently describes the pool as open year-round; check the operating schedule for your dates and any special events. Downtown Grand is best for couples, friends, pet owners, and value-minded visitors who want to explore downtown on foot while retaining a modern room and a real pool; travelers planning most of their time on the Strip should account for repeated rideshare or transit trips.

Breakfast is not included in every Downtown Grand rate: the hotel identifies a specific Continental Breakfast package. Check the confirmation for that inclusion before comparing it with a room-only offer. Self-parking is included for hotel guests, while overnight valet is separately priced. A refrigerator can also carry a charge, so verify the equipment in the exact category if you need one.

The hotel’s FAQ currently describes the rooftop pool as open year-round, with actual access still subject to its operating schedule. Guest rooms are nonsmoking, but the casino permits smoking; these are different policies. Travelers bringing a dog need an eligible Grand Deluxe room and should include the pet fee in the comparison. For housekeeping, the hotel asks guests to request towel, amenity and trash refreshes rather than promising automatic daily service.

Overall, my stay was enjoyable. The service was commendable, and the location is fantastic. It's just a 3-minute walk to the Fremont Street Experience and less than 10 minutes to numerous dining and bar options. The only drawback was the absence of a fridge or coffee maker in the rooms, which meant I couldn't keep water cold. This necessitated going downstairs to purchase everything individually as needed.

This is what you'd expect from a Fremont Street hotel—it's not flawless, but it's definitely suitable for a short stay in this vibrant city. The hotel is noticeably quieter than those directly on Fremont Street, though it's still wise to bring earplugs as the area is known for its lively nightlife. The air conditioning provided a soothing white noise, which was a plus. Housekeeping visits daily and supplies complimentary bottled water, and the staff we interacted with were very kind. The slot machines on-site were a bit pricier compared to other casinos nearby, but there are plenty of alternatives just a short walk away. Freedom Beat served up some delicious pancakes. Despite expectations of slow service, we were pleasantly surprised by the quick turnaround. The Art Bar offers excellent coffee and a selection of quick breakfast items, though it closes around noon. Across the street, you’ll find a biker bar (which we didn’t visit) and Pizza Rock, a sit-down restaurant with a bar. The pizza and atmosphere are both fantastic. For a daytime activity, the Mob Museum is a short walk away, offering three levels of intriguing mob-related exhibits. Just a couple of blocks away is Fremont Street itself. A tip: purchase your drinks at the ABC store for better prices, then pour them into plastic cups (provided at casino entrances since open cans are technically not allowed, though you’ll see plenty around). Fremont Street offers a wealth of free entertainment. Overall, this hotel is conveniently located near major attractions yet offers a quieter retreat than staying directly on Fremont. It's not perfect, but it's clean, bug-free, and staffed by friendly people.

I love the fact it was so close to Fremont! Easy to get around easy to get on and off the highway. We were on the 21st floor and it was such an amazing view. The pool was nice and clean. You couldn't hear the music to much it was muffled so if you had the TV on or something you can't even hear it. But they give you ear plugs if needed to sleep so the loudness doesn't bother you. They are such a great hotel very sweet people.
