About Ellis Island Casino & Hotel

Ellis Island is on Koval Lane behind the Horseshoe and Paris area. That location can save money while keeping the center Strip nearby, but Koval is a busy road and the route is less polished than moving between major resorts. The hotel building and casino are next to one another rather than forming a seamless megaresort, and free parking improves the value for drivers.

The renovated rooms and suites are functional places to sleep, not luxury accommodations. A small outdoor pool is available, but travelers planning a pool-focused vacation should choose a larger resort complex. The stronger amenities are next door in the compact, smoky, always-active casino, which offers more than 250 gaming machines, 24-hour table games, and a sportsbook. The intimate floor and comparatively accessible table limits appeal to players who find large corporate casinos impersonal.

Food and beer are the property's real highlights. The Village Pub & Cafe operates around the clock, while Ellis Island BBQ, Metro Pizza, Via Focaccia, and the two-level Front Yard broaden the casual choices. House-brewed beer and root beer reinforce the local, old-Vegas personality. Ellis Island is best for budget-conscious adults, value gamblers, and visitors who care more about inexpensive meals and a central location than room glamour; guests sensitive to smoke, noise, or basic facilities should spend more for a conventional Strip hotel.

Ellis Island in Las Vegas offers one of the friendliest casino experiences in town. Having frequented Vegas for over a decade, this place stands out. While we previously opted for the upscale casinos on the strip, Ellis Island is now on our list for future visits. Despite undergoing some minor renovations, it maintains a fascinating old-school charm. Depending on your preferences, you might appreciate the grounded, welcoming atmosphere more than the highbrow alternatives. The gambling options are excellent, boasting some of the best table games in Vegas, with exceptionally friendly dealers and pit bosses. Plus, the food is fantastic, even at 2am.

The exterior and shared areas may have seen better days, but the room at Ellis Island was surprisingly great for the price. It was clean and comfortable, although the small pillows made it a bit difficult to fall asleep. I appreciated the option to choose when housekeeping would come since I didn't need daily service. The casino had low limits and provided good drink service, with friendly and helpful staff. It's a 12-minute walk to the monorail and a little over 15 minutes to the Strip. While the complimentary steak left something to be desired, the pizza stand was fantastic and reasonably priced. Overall, a solid choice for budget-conscious travelers.

We had a great time at Ellis Island in Las Vegas. After leaving our resort and needing a place to stay for a while, we chose Ellis Island and were pleasantly surprised by the nice hotel rooms. It's a great option for those looking for a decent room and a place to have fun, enjoy excellent food, and do some gambling. I tried gambling for the first time and won $3, which was exciting and enjoyable. It's definitely a place to check out for a good time.
