About Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino

Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino is on Paradise Road beside the Las Vegas Convention Center, east of the north Strip. The property has its own Las Vegas Monorail station and a Vegas Loop station, making it much easier to reach the central resort corridor than its off-Strip address might suggest. Convention attendees can walk to nearby halls, while leisure travelers should expect to use transit or rideshares for most Strip sightseeing.

The large hotel offers a wide range of rooms and suites, including renovated 400-square-foot premier rooms and substantially larger themed and specialty suites. Room quality and style can vary by category in a resort of this age and size, so it is worth comparing the exact room type instead of booking solely on the lowest advertised rate.

Gaming includes a full casino and one of the resort’s best-known features, its enormous race and sportsbook. Live shows, bars, retail, a wedding chapel, and multiple restaurants make Westgate a complete resort rather than simply a convention hotel. Its history as the former International and Las Vegas Hilton also gives it a strong connection to classic Las Vegas entertainment.

The renovated outdoor pool deck has cabanas, daybeds, a bar and grill, and a 15-seat hot tub. Serenity Spa offers massages, skin care, salon services, and spa packages, while the resort also maintains a fitness center and tennis facilities. The pool is a pleasant amenity but not a destination water park.

Westgate works well for convention visitors, sports bettors, Monorail users, classic-Vegas fans, and travelers who find a strong package rate. It is generally more value-oriented than the newest Strip luxury resorts, and some areas may feel less contemporary. A substantial daily resort fee and incidental deposit should be included when comparing the true cost of a stay.

Best For

  • Travelers who want a base in the Las Vegas Strip resort corridor
  • Couples and special-occasion trips seeking an upscale hotel experience
  • Guests who expect to schedule meaningful pool or spa time at the hotel
  • Business travelers balancing event access with nearby dining and entertainment

Consider The Tradeoffs

  • A Strip address can still involve long walks through large resorts, bridges, and indoor corridors
  • Resort fees, parking charges, deposits, and amenity schedules can change; compare the final checkout total for the exact dates
  • Lower rates may come with simpler rooms, fewer on-site amenities, or a less convenient tourist location
  • Casino activity, smoking areas, nightlife, and busy public spaces may not suit travelers seeking a quiet retreat

Our experience at Westgate in Las Vegas has been fantastic. Upon arriving at noon, we were pleased to find our room ready for us. The front desk staff member who assisted us was incredibly welcoming and professional, which left a positive impression after our tiring drive from LA. It's staff members like this that truly enhance a guest's experience—recognition and rewards are well deserved! The hotel's gym is impressive with its ample treadmills and space, and the pool area is excellent as well.

Our rooms were disgusting oil stains on curtains and what looked like dried boogers on our sheets. The first night we had absolutely no water, the other room we got they found make up brushes that were not ours! and razors!!! from the previous people before us. House keeping went into our room and didn’t get the trash by the door and only made our bed didnt change any of the disgusting sheets. We wrote a complaint and did not receive anything like no one cared… We were promised 100$ gift cards for listening to the timeshare which was on a birthday that we were celebrating the whole reason for our trip and it took 4 1/2 hours when we should’ve been celebrating. 12-4:30 pm. and we’re told that they were grabbing our cards and yet we were shown out. I will NEVER stay here again and advise others to not. We got nothing we were promised and no one there cared enough to figure anything out. upon leaving we requested a bell hop cart to help us get our things down to the car, the lady who helped us was not nice at all we asked her to meet us up front so we can pull out money to tip her and she continued saying that we were not going to meet her up front then said happy new years to me in a very rude tone. We all honestly feel as though a half refund or something should’ve been aligned. we were treated horribly.

Currently staying here for a tournament, and I wouldn't recommend this place. We certainly won't be back. The East tower elevators were supposedly undergoing maintenance for just the first day, but by Day 3, only one out of four is working, leading to very long waits. Our room's AC isn't working despite calling down twice and being told it was fixed yesterday. The in-room safe also malfunctioned, and we were told we needed to be present for security to fix it. However, they didn't show up at the agreed time, and when we rescheduled and left, someone entered our room to fix it while we were away. When we checked in, we were informed that we booked their nicest room. If this is their best offering, I suggest finding another place to stay. Furthermore, despite their claims of being kid and family-friendly, there are no dining options suitable for children at all. We chose this location because it's across the street from our kid's tournament and advertised as family-friendly, but it certainly is not.
