Wager56 left a 4 star review for Treasure Island

Treasure Island in Las Vegas offers a more limited range of activities compared to some other hotels in the area. Naturally, there's a casino and a few shows, but options outside of these are somewhat scarce. Dining at the hotel is decent, though you might find more enticing culinary options along the Strip or in nearby hotels. Upon arrival, there's a self-check-in kiosk available, but navigating the system can be a bit tricky and it initially attempted to include additional charges. Consequently, the manual check-in line was a better alternative. Conversely, the check-out process is user-friendly and efficient, with the convenience of options via TV or text, which truly saves time. Parking at the hotel presents a challenge. The only point of direct casino access is on the third floor, necessitating an elevator ride to reach it. Elevator service within the hotel is divided by floor, so be mindful of which one you choose. Overall, the rooms offer standard accommodations, delivering what's expected from a typical hotel experience.

The food and service at BRERA osteria were exceptional. We were craving authentic Italian cuisine, and this restaurant truly delivered! It has become one of my top three Italian dining spots. Our server was outstanding, adding a personal touch to our experience. They were incredibly attentive, going above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic meal. Being vegetarians, they arranged a special request to the chef to modify the menu, and even introduced us to the chef afterward. Truly an amazing experience.

Wager56 left a 4 star review for El Cortez

El Cortez Hotel and Casino in Downtown Las Vegas offers a unique blend of charm and nostalgia. While it’s clear the property is older and in need of renovations, it provides a lot of appeal for those seeking an affordable yet memorable experience. The hotel reveals its age with rooms that feature old carpets, dated furniture, and vintage electrical fittings. Despite this, everything functioned well, and for the price, it delivered decent value. The standout aspect of the property is undoubtedly the casino. Unlike the modern mega-casinos on the Strip, El Cortez offers a cozy, old-school atmosphere that sets it apart. A particular highlight was the presence of old-style coin-dispensing slot machines, which are increasingly rare and added a nostalgic touch to the gambling experience. The casino isn’t particularly large, but it’s the perfect size for an enjoyable time without feeling overwhelming. The staff experience varied—while some were notably rude, others went out of their way to be friendly and professional, resulting in mixed service. An appreciated feature was the complimentary airport drop-off, adding convenience to the stay. Overall, although El Cortez isn’t the most modern or luxurious option, it offers a charming and affordable experience. With some essential renovations, it could truly stand out as a gem in Downtown Las Vegas. Until then, it remains a solid choice for those who appreciate a vintage Vegas vibe.

I snagged a Monday night stay for just $37, and I really can't complain! No resort fee, plus there's a 24-hour Subway right there. Situated on Fremont Street, it's a fantastic deal. It even has that classic casino aroma and vibe that I adore, lol.

What a night to remember in Las Vegas! We chose Casa Calavera for a dinner with a small group of 8 after a wedding celebration, and this place truly made the evening unforgettable. From the moment we were warmly welcomed by the hostesses to the attentive service from the bartender and our server, every aspect was outstanding! The food and drinks were delightful, and the service was top-notch. The chef surprised us with a special sweetheart slice of cake adorned with two white chocolate sugar skulls, which was a hit! He personally came out to offer congratulations, and many of the staff joined in as well. The atmosphere was fun, casual, and relaxed, creating the perfect setting. Thank you, Casa Calavera, for making the evening so special.
