Food and service were really good. Our server was quick to take our order and the food came relatively quickly. I had the trash can nachos which were really well presented but had a lot of toppings and got soggy pretty fast. The flavor was great though.
The atmosphere is upbeat and fun. My only complaint is the really high drink prices, but I guess you can expect that for a restaurant right on the strip
We come to Vegas often and lately we've always stayed downtown and always stayed at the Golden Nugget. We love this hotel. Lots of different kinds of room options, good food choices, and really nice pool area. Right on Fremont Street. Easy to get to other casinos without having to walk miles like you do out on the strip. It's definitely a party atmosphere downtown.
In the past we've always stayed in the Carson Towers because those are the cheapest rooms, but this time we decided to upgrade to the Rush Tower. We will probably stay in the Rush Tower for now on. Although Carson is okay, we like the Rush rooms a bit better and there are refrigerators and coffee makers in the rooms.
Carson Tower is further from Fremont Street so quieter. But we were able to get a room in the Rush Tower on the strip side away from Fremont Street. Be sure to specify that you want a quiet room, especially if you opt for the Gold Tower which is the "middle" option in terms of price.
Overall we really recommend the Golden Nugget.
M&Ms World is always a must when we visit Las Vegas. A little disappointed on the last trip because they did not have as many new items as usual but still a good time! It is always very clean and organized. Be prepared, it can get crowded by the M&M self-dispensing area!
I love Golden Nugget and usually have really good experiences at Grotto, but the last visit was awful. They were out of fettuccine and just replaced it with spaghetti noodles without telling me and the staff was very rude about the whole ordeal. It's not so much the fact that they were out of fettuccine, just the way they handled the whole thing.
Numb Bar is a fun and easy spot to grab a big frozen drink while you're walking the strip. If you're passing by Harrah's, just use the walkway that goes through Harrah's instead of staying on the sidewalk outside and you will walk right past it. If you keep your receipt then you get to save a little on drinks there all day too. The drinks are actually pretty strong too.
