Claim Jumper at Golden Nugget is always a reliable choice for a meal. I have visited many of their locations and have always enjoyed their Pot Pie. Unfortunately, on this recent visit, they were out of Pot Pie due to a supplier issue with the dough. It did make me wonder why they couldn't simply make their own dough in-house if they are a true restaurant. I ended up trying the Meatloaf, which I suspect may just be a pre-made, frozen meatloaf heated up in the microwave. Despite not being able to eat it due to my walnut allergy, my wife always enjoys their delicious chocolate cake. I regret not taking a photo of it this time!
The meals at House of Blues Restaurant & Bar were both delicious and well-prepared. Breakfast in particular felt like a special treat, with the food being freshly made and not rushed. The wait staff were always welcoming and accommodating, and the drinks were top-notch. While I didn't get to experience the live music, I heard it can get pretty crowded during those times. If there is a convention at the hotel, it's recommended to go for breakfast before 8am or after 9am to avoid the crowds.
Fresco Italiano at Westgate is truly a hidden gem! We stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for a place to eat during March Madness and were pleasantly surprised by the experience. The focaccia bread was out of this world - warm, fluffy, with a slight crunchiness on the outside. The charcuterie board was a must-try, with the basil-infused oil pairing perfectly with the ricotta salata. The figs, tomatoes, and balsamic added a great variety of flavors. The minestrone soup was exactly what I needed, with a flavorful broth that was soothing to the stomach. The butternut squash ravioli was a standout dish, with a decadent sauce that perfectly complemented the pasta. We also enjoyed beverages from the bar, which were reasonably priced. Our bill came out to around $100, excluding tip. Overall, Fresco Italiano at Westgate exceeded our expectations and we would definitely return for the high-quality food options. While Westgate may not have fancy decor, the food quality makes up for it. Definitely worth a visit!
