Visit WebsiteThe Golden Gate Hotel and Casino has stood at 1 Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas since 1906, making it an iconic part of historic downtown Las Vegas. Built as a railroad hotel when the city was in its infancy, the hotel offered quality rooms and service, as well as gaming and a lively watering hole. The watering hole is still there, and just as lively.
Over the years it has been a roaring twenties joint where flappers flapped away (whatever that means!), a speakeasy, and a western themed bar reminiscent of frontier days. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis often stopped in to wet their whistles at this downtown landmark. It has survived prohibition, the illegalization of gambling, and massive construction all around it.
Bar Prohibition is a survivor, a relic, which refuses to show her age. Come in for a lively atmosphere, a cocktail from their list of specialties, a cold beer, or a sip of wine. Just a 3-minute walk from the Fremont Street Experience, you can have your own experience at a venerable establishment that remains young at heart. After all, it was good enough to lure the Rat Pack from the Strip, so it’s certainly worth the trip!
