What I Liked Most

What I Disliked

My dining companion and I decided to visit for lunch, drawn by the $9.99 two-item special. We chose the fried rice paired with sweet and sour pork and orange chicken. The ordering process was straightforward, and the portion sizes were generous. However, the food was quite bland; my dining companion, who rarely leaves food uneaten, found it impossible to finish due to its lack of flavor. The small establishment has a few tables and presents the food well. It’s a decent option if you’re looking to fill up on a budget, but don’t expect much in terms of taste.

Lanai Express in Las Vegas operates on a fast-paced order system. Communication barriers make it challenging to receive quality service. The photos might be misleading; the food doesn't always meet expectations. A double entree plate is required if you want fried rice, and sampling the food isn't allowed, which is concerning. We tried the orange chicken with fried rice and a veggie egg roll, as well as a chili and cheese hotdog. All were extremely disappointing. The meat in the rice was unidentifiable at first, and after a few bites, it was clear it wasn't worth eating. Proceed with caution if you decide to try this place.

What I Disliked

Service at Lanai Express is pretty slow, as there is usually only one person working the counter with a small line forming. The fried rice could use more shoyu and flavoring, and the sweet and sour pork and orange chicken were not up to par. However, the shrimp cocktail was a standout with small shrimp piled in a cup for only $1.99. Despite this, I am hesitant to try anything else on the menu as I did not want to waste my money on something that tasted subpar. I prefer heading to one of the other eateries around the corner at Fremont for a better deal and tastier food.

Lanai Express in Las Vegas has been serving Chinese fast food for many years without much change. The prices are reasonable for the steam table dishes available. Conveniently located off the casino floor, it's a quick and easy option for a meal. While the menu is not as extensive as some other Chinese fast food chains, it offers a similar selection to Panda Express.

What I Liked Most

What I Disliked

I tried the vegetable lo mein with sweet and sour pork and beef and broccoli at Lanai Express. The pork was fatty and grisly, tasting like cut up pork chops breaded. The beef and broccoli was soggy and lacking in beef. Additionally, the portion size was quite small. In hindsight, I wish I had waited until 9pm to go to Tony Roma's Steak and Lobster for a slightly higher price.

What I Liked Most

What I Disliked

Service at Lanai Express is incredibly slow, with only one person manning the counter and a line of 2-3 people typically forming. The fried rice seems to be lacking shoyu and additional flavoring. The sweet and sour pork was underwhelming, and the orange chicken was tough. However, the shrimp cocktail was a standout, despite being made up of small shrimp in a cup for $1.99. Unfortunately, I am hesitant to try anything else on the menu after being disappointed with the other dishes. I would prefer to take my money to one of the nearby eateries on Fremont for a better deal and tastier food.
