Cañonita is on Retail Level 2 of Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian and The Palazzo, directly beside the indoor Grand Canal. Its waterfront tables look onto passing gondolas and singing gondoliers, creating one of the shopping center's more distinctive dining settings even though the canal is indoors.
The kitchen combines traditional Mexican foundations with contemporary presentation across ceviches, tacos, enchiladas, grilled meats, seafood, and scratch-made sauces. Tequila, mezcal, margaritas, and other cocktails give the full bar a substantial role, while the broad menu works for both a leisurely lunch and dinner.
Cañonita is best for first-time visitors, families, and groups who value atmosphere and a central resort location. Request a canal-side table for the full effect; otherwise the experience is closer to a polished casual Mexican restaurant.
