This review is going to be a negative one, unfortunately. The dining experience at Big AL's Oyster Bar was truly terrible. If it were possible, I would give this place negative stars. The only redeeming quality was the chef who prepared the main dish - he was hardworking, friendly, and talented. I had visited this restaurant years ago before Covid and it was a completely different experience. The food was fresh and the service was exceptional. However, in 2024, things have taken a turn for the worse. We requested bar seating to avoid a long wait but ended up waiting over 15 minutes for them to clean the counter, even though there were available tables and bar seats. The seafood gumbo I ordered was inedible - thick, salty, and clearly not fresh. I tried the clam chowder as a replacement and it was just as bad. The caesar salad was basic at best. Throughout the meal, there was an uncomfortable tension between the staff and the manager, with one employee even walking off. The service was chaotic and we had to constantly ask for everything. We ordered a dozen oysters for $45, which was not a bad price but the quality was lacking. After spending over $100, we left feeling disappointed and disgusted. The manager was friendly but it was too little, too late. It's clear that Big AL's Oyster Bar has declined from its former glory days. Proceed with caution if you choose to dine here. I would recommend sticking to dishes prepared by the head chef and avoiding the soups, gumbo, and salads.
The cup from Happy Lemon at Grand Bazaar Shops in Las Vegas is delightfully large and perfect for boba lovers. Despite ordering late at night when they were running low on jasmine GMT, the drink was still enjoyable and the cashier was great. Typically not a fan of supersized items, this large cup allowed for a more leisurely savoring of the tea, which was the perfect amount to enjoy. Highly recommend for boba lovers looking for a satisfying drink.
We stumbled upon Ocean One Bar & Grille during our stay at the Carriage House and it was a fantastic discovery. They offer a lunch special where most items on the menu are priced at $5.99, available until 5:00 pm. I tried the Greek chicken salad while my companion opted for the Italian seasoned crispy chicken breast salad. Both salads were fresh and packed with carrots, tomatoes, and a variety of greens. The dressings that came with the salads were delicious. It's hard to beat the quality of the meals at such an affordable price. The restaurant is conveniently located inside the Miracle Mile mall. We also had two dinners and two breakfasts at Ocean One during our trip, and all of our meals were consistently excellent. If you find yourself in the area, definitely give them a try.
I recently visited The Barbershop Cuts and Cocktails at the Cosmopolitan and had a great time. The speakeasy atmosphere was cool, with a talented main bartender and live music adding to the experience. However, it can get crowded quickly if you don't have a reservation, and the layout may be a bit confusing at first. Overall, a fun spot to check out for a unique night out in Las Vegas.
Walking through The Shops at Crystals makes me wonder how many people can actually afford the items in the stores. Despite this thought, I still enjoy window shopping here whenever I am on a staycation on the strip. Surprisingly, some of the stores are actually affordable and offer top name brand clothing without breaking the bank. During my visit, I didn't make any purchases as I am not looking to sell my house, but I always enjoy the experience of wandering through the exquisite décor that changes based on holidays and themes. It's a great place to get steps in and escape the outdoor weather. As a local, I can see myself returning in the future to either browse or buy something, as I usually do most of my shopping outside of the strip. Overall, it's a fantastic experience that I recommend everyone to try at least once.
This hotel was a disappointing experience. The rooms that were advertised on Hopper were not what we received. The room was in poor condition, worse than a Motel 6. It was dirty, the TV didn't work, and the furniture was old and stained. The walls and floors were also dirty. Security had to escort guests to their rooms, even though the club was empty. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The elevator was broken, the floor was flooded, and the outside music was loud all night. The bed frame was falling apart, there was only one plug in the room, and the lamps didn't work. Save your money and go elsewhere.
The breakfast buffet at Garden Court Buffet is pretty great. They offer all the classic breakfast options, including made-to-order omelettes at the egg station. The carving station had ham and there were plenty of delicious desserts, including a soft serve ice cream machine. The service was excellent, with a very helpful staff. The ambiance was lovely, with a charming old-timey feel, complete with chandeliers and high ceilings. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience.
I always enjoy Pizza Cake at Harrah's in Las Vegas. The crust is crispy and the ingredients are tasty, especially when they heat it up after you order. The Boss pizza is my favorite on the menu. It's the perfect late night drunk food option on the strip. And don't forget to try the dessert pizza - it's absolutely amazing!
I absolutely adore Turf Grill in Las Vegas. When I'm in the mood for some delicious bar food, this place never disappoints. The onion rings are truly exceptional - perfectly crispy and crunchy. Dakota really knows how to make them the best!
