Growing up in Hawaii and now living on the "9th Island," I have definitely experienced some excellent local cuisine in my life. I first tried Aloha Specialties back in the late 90s during my first visit to Las Vegas. The experience was wonderful because prior to that visit, I haven't had any good local Hawaiian food in years due to my time away from the islands (serving in the military). After my late 90s visit, I revisited Las Vegas in 2011 with my family to meet up with my Mom and Dad. This is the visit we always remember because the time spent with them was wonderful and marks the first time for my family trying Aloha Specialties. Fast forward in time...after years serving in the military between my wife and I, our final stop in our careers brought us back to Las Vegas in 2014, which we ended up retiring here. Since our arrival, we've tried so many local Hawaiian restaurants in the city, but still manage to revisit Aloha Specialties from time-to-time because this restaurant will always hold a piece of family history for us. In fact, we still try to sit in the same back, corner booth we did from the 2011 visit (even though the restaurant experienced a renovation), just to relive the memory. The service here is always outstanding; I have NEVER received bad customer service from the employees during any of my previous visits. Not to mention, the service is amazingly fast even during peak hours. The price-to-quantity/quality ratio is phenomenal; the amount of rice they serve here is remarkable. I also appreciate how this restaurant supports the men and women of the Armed Forces and its Veterans. Unfortunately, I don't want to list all the food I've tried here because I think I've managed to try ~70-80% of the menu items by now; however, I will provide a small list of my family's favorites (to include mine). We really enjoy getting the Mix Plate, Local Plate, Aloha Bento, Korean Spicy Chicken, Saimin, and Wonton Min. During our most recent visit, my wife stated that the Korean Spicy Chicken is in her top-3 favorite chicken dishes ever! We definitely will be back in the future and I highly recommend this restaurant to all 9th Island residents and visitors from across the world.
Guys trip to Vegas and our French compatriot booked this restaurant. It was an amazing meal to say the least. The sommelier recommended and white and a red that paired perfectly with our meals. The food was delicious but the service was exceptional. Our larger table was seated next to the window to see the beautiful water fountains at the Bellagio! A must now when I come to Vegas!
Says it's 24 hours ... it's NOT!!! When you ask at front desk nobody knows when it will open and 6 times we went down during the 3 night stay and only once it was open ... today i wanted coffee ... closed at 6:30, closed at 7:30, closed at 8:15 ... last night closed at 5pm. This place sucks! Front desk is less than helpful. Hours posted online is a lie. There are no hours posted at the establishment.
Gilbert T was an unwelcoming bartender. Be aware if you ask for a drink. He will give you the most expensive one without telling you. Then tell you rudely, you should have asked for the cheaper brand. I wanted to like the lounge, but that ruined my experience.
The food here was not bad by any means. It was your average grub. We had breakfast here which was pretty decent and an appetizer another night with some drinks. It's more of a 3.7 rating, not worthy of a 4 but not a 3. My husband said the skillet was pretty good and the biscuits and gravy was decent. The biscuits and gravy was super heavy. The bacon egg and cheese sandwich was good, I just wasn't a fan of the bread. Prices are high, that's Vegas strip for you.... O and there was a 25 pp minimum but they didn't enforce that while we ate there.
What a nice surprise to find this bar nestled near the entrance to the Four Seasons there at Mandalay Bay! We went there after a game at Allegiant Stadium, it's mellow and has interesting people including the bartenders. Try the spicy margherita, you won't be disappointed
My experience at Siena Golf Course on October 7th was nothing short of disastrous. We were out-of-towners who had chosen this course for my son's 30th birthday, a decision that we would soon regret. Siena had scheduled a super senior golf tournament that morning, which added up to an average of six hours per team. Our tee time was at 11:09, but we didn't begin until 11:50 and had to follow the tournament for the first nine holes. We were only allowed to play eleven holes in four and a half hours before we had to leave due to other birthday obligations. The ranger apologized three times, but there seemed to be nothing he could do. We asked for a refund, but that was not an option. The greens were a mess. Some kind of weed was growing on them, so staff had to cut out huge chunks of the green and replace them. However, they seemed to be unable to keep up, as several greens had huge spots with no grass at all. This was my first time in seven years that I was disappointed with my golfing vacation. I had never seen or heard about a course operating in this manner. The staff apologized, but they were not willing to offer any kind of financial compensation. We had no chance to finish 18 holes that day, yet we were still charged over $300. There was no consideration for customer satisfaction on their part. I'm sure Siena didn't care once they had our money, but they have a responsibility to be upfront about what they can provide.
