Thank you so much to Riley and Mike for helping me schedule a New Year's booth for the family. The package includes food and golf. I really love how we can have an all-ages setting (levels 1 and 2) and bring kids and adults to enjoy ringing in 2024!
I enjoyed eating breakfast here the last two mornings. The food is good and the service is excellent. I got the classic breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes and wheat toast. No way I could eat it all. Then I had the brioche French toast with a blueberry compote. Another large serving I could not finish. You won’t need a knife to cut the French toast. Fluffy and flavorful. This was the best tasting compote I’ve ever tasted. Both servers were excellent and kept checking on us. Cute little place that is only open until 2pm.
Had my birthday brunch here whilst staying at the Conrad at Resorts World. Ordered the Turkey Club sandwich, the Tuna Melt and the Smashed Potatoes. The Turkey Club was excellent, but the Tuna Melt was disappointing as the cheese was still solid, thus no melt. The Smashed Potatoes were a bust - this side dish costs MORE than the Tuna Melt and they were bland and lukewarm. Service was OK although the servers tried to clear my plate before I’d finished. Unfortunately at these prices, the experience should be far better.
This is a good size shopping mall more than just fashion. You can find some good size department stores along with typical shopping mall stores and Apple Store. Food court is a bit small, but a nice mall to spend sometime away from casino or hot days outside. Lots of parking choices some parking spots in parkade which provide some shades from a hot sunny day. Worth coming for a few hours for a visit.
I stopped by for a couple of days to see how the renovation was going. I was comped a renovated room on a Friday and Saturday. The room renovation was very good. The staff as always (I've been visiting The Rio since 1990) were great, and it was great to see familiar faces as always. Everyone was optimistic. There is lots of work being done. The food court is scheduled to open in January, and will have a very good selection. The Wine Cellar as well will reopen in January. That was always one of my favorite places to hang out at The Rio. The old manager of The Wine Cellar is also back. They are replacing all the machines on the casino floor. That part isn't quite finished, but there were zero problems finding machines to play when I wanted. Rio Rewards were as good as promised. I accumulated a lot of points in very short order. Many of the shops are gone, but I'm sure they will be replaced soon enough. I'm looking forward to seeing all the updates as time goes by.
