Gold Spike in Las Vegas is a really cool spot with those quintessential "Only in Vegas" vibes. The outdoor seating area is absolutely beautiful, and the carnival/circus theme inside adds to the fun atmosphere. Located downtown, this place is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Whether you're looking to chill out or make some new friends, Gold Spike is a great place to do it. And if you're a Vegas local, make sure to check out industry night on Mondays for some extra perks!
We recently took a 90-minute sightseeing cruise with Lake Mead Cruises in Las Vegas. Boarding was a breeze and we had the option to take a photo before boarding, which we could purchase later for $10. The main deck of the boat is enclosed and air conditioned, perfect for those scorching Nevada days. There's a full bar and snack bar on board where you can buy drinks and food for an additional cost. For a better view, you can also sit outdoors on the upper level. The staff, especially the ladies at the bar and snack bar, were incredibly friendly. One thing to note is that boarding takes place at a marina in a national park, so if you don't have a national park pass, there is a $25 entrance fee that isn't mentioned when purchasing tickets.
The Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve is a fantastic place to visit for nature enthusiasts. Every time we go, there is something new and exciting to see. The story walk is educational and fun, giving us insight into the local wildlife. The new butterfly area is a beautiful addition that we enjoyed exploring. It's a peaceful setting perfect for a leisurely nature walk, and the absence of dogs adds to the tranquility. Artists will appreciate the serene surroundings for creating their masterpieces. I highly recommend a visit to this preserve for a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Absinthe was a spectacular show with raunchy, fantastical, and awe-inspiring acts. The performers were incredibly talented and my friends who had been before noted that it was a different experience from their previous visit. One memorable act featured the green fairy girls performing on poles ten feet in the air, flying above the audience's heads. The close proximity made it feel like you could almost high five them. While some in the first two rows were heckled and some of the humor was a bit punchy, the overall supportive atmosphere and funny moments made up for it. I would definitely attend again. Arriving early allows for drinks and gambling at Caesar's, although make sure to bring a sweater as the tent entrance is outdoors. The bathrooms are located across the street. We opted for a ride share to Caesars, so I can't speak to the parking situation. Overall, Absinthe was a fantastic show that I would highly recommend experiencing.
It's been over 15 minutes and we still haven't been acknowledged after having to clear two tables for our party to be seated at The Lounge in Las Vegas. The waitress claimed she didn't have time to serve us outside, but then went outside just 5 minutes later. We decided to leave as the service was poor and there was no communication about the delays. Overall, we recommend avoiding this establishment and opting for quicker service at the nearby food court or Starbucks instead. Just not worth the hassle.
My experience at Sahara in Las Vegas was fantastic! After arriving at 3 am following a long drive, Ma at the front desk was incredibly sweet and gave us a resort credit that we used for breakfast. The restaurant was delicious, with our server Lucy being both speedy and very friendly. Our room was cozy and inviting, and we definitely plan on returning in the future.
With 42 lanes located upstairs in the Orleans casino, this bowling center offers private event rooms, a cafe, and a state-of-the-art scoring system. The restrooms are plentiful and clean, and the staff is both welcoming and professional. I had a great experience and will definitely be returning in a week for another visit.
The food is quite tasty at Big Sur Oyster Bar. Just be aware that there is a policy of only ordering one entree per person. It's probably best not to go there on an empty stomach, haha. I tried the 1lb of crab legs, the Cioppino, Rockefeller Oyster, and fresh shucked Oysters. The restaurant is conveniently situated inside South Point casino in the middle section.
Visited Marinelli's Pasta Bar on a Sunday for a date night and found it to be not too crowded. I ordered the alfredo and found it to be a bit bland compared to other places, while my partner ordered the cavatelli amatriciana and enjoyed its flavorful kick. The atmosphere was great, service was friendly, and the restaurant is conveniently located across from an ice cream shop. I would consider returning to try a dish with more flavor next time.
