Start your day with a visit to the practice center at Desert Pines, where you will find a two-tiered driving range with over 25 bays covered to protect customers from the sun and rain. The facility is also heated during the winter. The course itself is beautifully lush, with over 4,000 trees and a sprinkling of lakes and water features. It has been used as a beautiful setting for wedding photography, too, as many a bride has chosen Desert Pines Golf Club as their ideal wedding venue. The course is 6,810 yards long and comes in at a par 71. No need to worry about dehydrating out there, though, as there is a full-service drink service offered by traveling cart. Beer, cocktails, energy drinks, and water are available. So, if you're bored with the strip (although how could you be!), pay a visit to Desert Pines Golf Club, and experience a little seclusion and serenity on this beautiful course.

What I Liked Most

What I Disliked

I wanted to share my thoughts on Desert Pines Golf Club because I believe the negative reviews do not do it justice. The highlight of this course is undoubtedly the staff - they were fantastic throughout the entire venue and truly made the experience enjoyable. While the course itself is beautiful, it does show signs of wear and tear. Many of the issues seem to stem from the players themselves, with pitch marks not being repaired, broken tees scattered on the tee boxes, bunkers not being raked, and litter blowing around. It's important for everyone who uses the course to take care of it. With some extra attention to maintenance, I believe Desert Pines Golf Club has the potential to reach a whole new level.

What I Disliked

Desert Pines Golf Club has become overpriced and has lost some of its former appeal. The Dye Design course, once known for its tight fairways and challenging greens, is no longer a great value for the price. The recent renovations to the greens are a positive change, but there are still better golf options in Vegas. It would have been interesting to see lights incorporated into the course for nighttime play, especially during the hot summer months. Ultimately, as the golf scene in Vegas evolves, Desert Pines may not be missed. Despite one fan's loyalty to the course, the overall management and value have declined compared to years past.

What I Disliked

Incredibly overpriced and just not what the course used to be. It’s sad because the Dye Design (PB, not Pete) at one time was a blast to play: crazy tight fairways, some excellent green complexes, and a fair value. Those days are long gone as the golf explosion continues to raise the prices, and golf courses that are nowhere near the value they are charging are taking advantage. I will give Desert Pines a little credit for redoing the greens. If they can keep them firm and fast, it will be a lot better when springtime conditions roll around. But, for the time being, there is just way better golf to play in Vegas. I would have loved to see Desert Pines find some way to incorporate lights into the course. With such a small property and so many holes running alongside one another (you will have people playing a different hole on your fairway, that’s a given), it would have been a fun place to play at night during the high summer temps. It sucks the Vegas Valley is losing another course, but if I’m being honest, this one is not going to be missed. I also want to say that Joe, aka HittinGreens, is a HUGE fan of this place, and it’s why I’ve added a star to the ranking. Some enjoyment can be found on the course; that’s a given. But as I compare it to how it was just 5-6 years ago, it’s sad to see it how it’s being managed now.

Played there for the first time. Staff was friendly and did a great job getting us out. The course is a lot of fun, great design with some of the best putting surfaces I've seen in a while.

This a great public course. The course has an intricately intertwined maze of holes going back and forth between a series of hills and ponds that ultimately tests about every club in your bag and every type of shot that you can make. They do a great job to keep a nice carpet of playable green grass on all of the fairways despite the lower January and February temperatures. The greens are in very good shape and your putts roll smooth and fast. Most of the greens have multiple contours which definitely challenge even the best of putters to choose a proper line for their putts. The pace of play was wonderful when we played and we finished in just under 3 Hours
