The Painted Desert Golf Club is located 20 to 25 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip. It boasts a championship design, as it is the former home of the Nevada Open.
Painted Desert was the first desert golf course in the Las Vegas area and continues to be one of the most popular for visitors and locals alike. Before you take in the course, you can get in some practice on the driving range, the putting green, the chipping green, and the practice bunkers. The course itself was designed by highly respected Jay Moorish, and for decades now the course has stood the test of time. The fairways are laid with ryegrass or Bermuda grass, depending on the season. Everything is beautifully maintained for a great round of golf. Unlike some desert courses, the greens are not hard and dry, but soft and resilient. The course is designed to be challenging, yet still entertaining for novice golfers. Equipment is available for rent on site, and there is also a full-service restaurant and banquet space available for private events.

The narrow fairways and residential surroundings may not appeal to every golfer, but there is a certain charm to Painted Desert Golf Club. The course features several holes that run alongside beautiful water features, creating a scenic backdrop for your game. I have given this course a three-star rating due to some issues we experienced during our round. Tee times scheduled only 7 minutes apart caused a 20-minute delay in our morning start, and the overall pace of play was nearly 5 hours. Long waits at tee boxes were a frequent occurrence, and the absence of a course marshal and complimentary range balls could be off-putting for some players.

Outstanding golf course with affordable drink prices at the clubhouse compared to other parts of Vegas. It's a bit of a cab ride away from the strip, but definitely worth the trip. We had a fantastic time.

Painted Desert Golf Club is a hidden gem in a quiet neighborhood. While not a flashy destination, it's a course I always enjoy playing when in Las Vegas. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. The course is well-maintained, and I only wish the condo grounds were as nice! I had a mix-up with a shirt purchase, but the pro shop staff went above and beyond to help me resolve it when I got back home. Their customer service was top-notch.

Despite the narrow fairways and residential surroundings, Painted Desert Golf Club has a certain appeal that will captivate many golfers. The course features several holes that offer stunning views of water features, making for a picturesque backdrop during your round. I gave this course a three-star rating due to some issues we faced while playing. Our tee times were only 7 minutes apart, resulting in a 20-minute delay to our morning start time. This, in turn, led to a pace of play that stretched to nearly 5 hours. The main cause of the slow pace was frequent waits at tee boxes. Some might find the absence of a roaming marshal and the lack of free range balls to be dealbreakers.
