The steaks at this restaurant are outrageously delicious; you don't even need a steak knife as a butter knife would do just fine. Along with the steakhouse chopped salad, we tried the seafood jackpot with half-cut king crab legs, two oysters, two jumbo shrimps and a lobster tail. Everything was delectable! The platter was enhanced by mignonette and sweet and spicy cocktail sauce. We had three types of bread on the side; raisin, sourdough and pretzel, with soft butter. The loaded baked potato was large in portion, however it was served slightly cold. Service was pretty good, the atmosphere was pleasant and there was a variety of beverages and cocktails.
I've been coming here for years, but last trip I ordered a bouillabaisse and there were no leg crabs - which didn't seem worth the price. I asked the waitress about it and she said something about the menu changing, but the menu seemed the same. Did she mean the recipe was different? I'm guessing the chef had changed. My soup needed more salt: it was definitely different from what I was used to.
As someone who loves the strip, but also likes to get out and explore the rest of the city, Mandalay Bay in a perfect location. You're on the strip and can pretty easily walk to Bellagio and Caesars where a lot of the action is, but you can also hop in your car and get away from it all in no time. The rooms are always clean and the price is reasonable.
I love to experience all the culinary delicacies Las Vegas has to offer, but I haven't found anything that beats Bugsy and Meyers at Flamingo. The food and atmosphere are always 5 stars and the service is outstanding. We've ordered just about everything from steaks to the seafood tower and never had a single complaint.
