This review may be a bit biased as I discovered I'm not a fan of Vegas during this trip. The property was recently sold, so renovations are likely in the works. The room was nicely decorated, but be prepared to pay for any extras - no coffee maker, bottled water, or microwave provided. They do offer an iron and ironing board, though. I found it strange that a double occupancy king room only had three pillows. Check-in can be a bit time-consuming. On a positive note, I left an expensive camera and cash on a bench and security turned it in, so kudos for that. Everything inside the hotel is pricey, like a $19 cheeseburger. Save money by heading to the nearby CVS. The sushi restaurant has good quality food and friendly staff, and the happy hour prices are reasonable. Overall, The Mirage is a nice property with moderately priced rooms, but it may not live up to the expectations of some of the bigger hotels in Vegas.
The Scene Pool Deck at Planet Hollywood is a disappointment for anyone looking for a true resort pool experience. With one of the pools closed and both being on the smaller side, the area can quickly feel overcrowded. Additionally, the gambling tables and the flowrider were not even functioning during my visit. The overall condition of the pool deck is run down, and the fact that they charge for beach chairs is off-putting. In comparison, other true resort pools like Bellagio do not charge for chairs. Overall, the Scene Pool Deck at Planet Hollywood falls short of expectations for a resort pool.
I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Bistro 57. Although the food was average, the standout for me was the exceptional service from the staff. Our server, Chris, who also happened to be the bartender, went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable dining experience. It's rare to see such enthusiasm and dedication from restaurant staff nowadays. While the chicken picata was a bit too lemony for my liking, the pasta and chicken were cooked perfectly. I am looking forward to returning to sample more dishes on the menu and hopefully hear another song from the talented bartender, Chris.
Golden Circle Sportsbook & Bar is a lifesaver with its operating hours from 12pm-7am, making it the only late-night dining option in the hotel. The food was delicious and drinks were tasty too. Highly recommend!
Our stay at Horseshoe Las Vegas was enjoyable. The casino was quite smoky, which was a downside for us. However, the room was clean and well-equipped with nice comfy chairs, a desk, and a large LG TV. The bathroom was also clean, although the shower could use more water pressure. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the room itself was quiet aside from the road traffic outside. The cleaning staff was efficient and quick, and the location of the hotel was fantastic. While the casino staff didn't seem overly friendly and there wasn't a standout bar for drinks, there wasn't much within the hotel premises to keep us entertained beyond a good night's sleep. Overall, the price and quality of the rooms made our stay worth it.
