n3oG33k left a 3 star review for Du-Par's Restaurant & Bakery

This place is a classic. The food was great and I guess that if you're going to bring any classic restaurant that started in another place to Las Vegas, it kind of has to be in a casino. I didn't think the patty melt was all that fantastic and that is one of the things they're famous for but the rest of it was very good. The service was not the best. It's always irritating when you're made to sit and wait for a table when you can clearly see that half the tables in the restaurant are open and there's really no line. Even more irritating is the sense that people who are regulars and arrived after us were being seated ahead of us. Maybe they had reservations but in listening to the interactions between them and the servers, that's not how it came off.

The food here was incredible. Literally compliments to the chef who stopped by and fist bumped me. The best crab cake I’ve ever eaten. The steak was perfect, and so were the sides. Even my mom doesn’t make mashed potatoes this good! The server recommended a fantastic red wine to accompany the steak. I didn’t have room for dessert, but he brought me mints! I highly recommend this place, and it is half the price of nearby steakhouses. My only negative comment was with the hostess. She tried a couple times to sit me at a table in the bar area right next to the door to the smokey casino because I was a solo diner. I am not paying these prices for a meal to be stuck at a table like that. One more item. I know old fashioneds can be made a variety of ways, but nobody I know is looking for chipped ice and soda water filler. One big cube and straight bourbon, please.

This is my and my husband's go-to restaurant every time we come to Las Vegas! The food is amazing, although it gets pricey. The quality and cuantity of each dish are unmatched. It's in a very quiet part of the MGM Grand Hotel, so that helps with it being an intimate dinner. Unless it's a busier day. I will always recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Las Vegas.

When we came to the restaurant we had to wait for our table we had reserved. They need seats for clients to wait. While we were waiting, we sat at the bar and ordered several different drinks. Every single drink of the bar tenders made was amazing. We ordered all appetizers and salads and caviar. It was amazing. By the time we were done, I was full, but my main course was still on its way. I ordered Filet mignon. Amazing steak, i was so full, but there was space for the steak. The service was great they were on top of everything. Service was exceptional Thomas, and the crew made our experience great. We were a group of 8, so having food and drinks ready at the same time is great.

This along with race tickets was given to me for Father's Day from my boys. I was excited because I had done the Rusty Wallace at Texas Motor Speedway and plane to do Talladega and Daytona and wanted to compare. First, I'd say Vegas Speedway is thrilling. It's a mile and a half and really quick. The turns have super banks. The cars go around the track almost by themselves. It took a few laps to learn the track and know how to approach the turns. I am not a huge fan of restrictors, but I understand why they have them. The cars were nice, a little tight but it's what you get when you have so many people using the same cars. A little issue with the heat at the track and no shade provided. They could have also sold water or soft drinks because I would have paid $10.00 for an ice-cold drink. Now, I was not happy with the packages for the price and the certificates. I liked the Wallace Experience because they took a picture of you sitting in the window of the car and a picture of you on the track. Petty just has you against a backdrop and a picture of Richard. They didn't provide a go pro on top of the car, but you could purchase an in-car video for $99.00. The go pro at Wallace was included in the price. Overall cheaper. I did like the fact that you got a certificate for your fastest lap, but I'd challenge the speed posted. I timed several cars and most all of them were around 110 to 120 MPH so it's hard to believe my speed was 148.51 mph when my wife timed me at 46 seconds. The time and speed don't match. That with me running max RPM of 5000 before the restrictor kicks in and shuts you down. Overall, I had a good time and yes it was free for me so I shouldn't complain but I wanted to leave a review in case someone reads it before spending $400.00 to $600.00. I'll give an update in November when I go back with a radar gun and compare the gun to the certificates. Update, speeds listed on certificates do not match radar. The speeds they print for you are somewhere around 30 miles per hour faster that you actually go. There's a good way to tell your speed. They only allow these cars to run at 5000 RPM which is around 120 MPH. The Xfinity cars are closest to these cars, and they are running in the 8000 - 10,000 RPM at speeds of 160 to 180 MPH.
