No visit to the Golden Nugget is complete without a couple evenings at Ice Bar, especially when Art is bartending. The man is a national treasure.
My wife and I got to attend the last show of 2021 for Carrot Top. I’ve known of CT since I was a kid and was excited to see him in person. Had zero expectations but ended up being my favorite show we attended. He was hilarious and I loved his interaction with the audience. Highly, highly recommend seeing this show. There is a reason the guy has been in Vegas for 16 years!! Excellent show!! Best wishes to him and his team and continued success!!
The view is incredible and you are definitely paying for it here. The window seats and outside are most desired. Whenever the fountains are going, everyone stands and crowds around so the seated people can't really see which is a little frustrating. The food was great but the portions are incredibly small. Our table was rather dirty on the folded parts and we ended up with past crumbs all over us when we leaned against the table.
I had a great experience here. The ambiance was very quiet and calming. The facilities were all extremely clean. And the woman who performed the massage did a great job of targetting the areas I needed worked on and applying the perfect amount of pressure. If I stay at the Sahara again I will definitely be booking another massage.
Came with friends on Friday night quite late and was shocked to find that not only is a bar in a casino not open so late on a Friday night but the bar staff were the most rude I’d ever encountered when it came time to close, bordering on offensive in attitude telling us to leave while he was laughing with clearly what must have been friends further around the bar. I have to say the drinks were also pretty poor. A Moscow mule wasn’t even served in a mule cup and the amount of ice used weakened the mix considerably likely to save money on measures. Very poor. Won’t visit again but the staff attitude was the worse part.
Absinthe is my favorite show in Vegas, and Opium is similar but a small step down compared to it. They were all very good individual performances but just didn’t quite transition together as well. Nevertheless, a very enjoyable show overall. I would go again.
6/18/13 PLENTY OF OTHER GOOD CASINO BARS IN THIS CASINO (Flamingo) I love little casino bars. When the service is good and drinks are at least standard. This bar makes it awkward for the bartenders to be friendly or to even be bartenders. The seats at the bar seem very far from where the bartenders stand. We had trouble getting the bartenders attention and didn't receive friendly service when we did. The drinks we received were average. I enjoyed the gambling machines on the bar. I'd rather play on the Bugsy Bar nearby, (also inside the Flamingo near the strip entrance). They have friendly bartenders and a more lively atmosphere. Drinks were pretty watered down at both spots, but we bring our own alcohol in Vegas, so they're usually the perfect strength with a little doctoring.
I stayed at the Rio, the rooms are beautiful, but that is where it ends. Checking in was a long, drawn-out wait. More than half of the kiosks were not used, making the wait longer than needed. The manager behind the desk was rude, did not want to help anyone, and backed it up with a shrug of the shoulder and a smirk. Here is what I experienced at the Rio Hotel 1. Poor management and attitude. 2. The room is beautiful, but I found carpenter nails loose on the floor. I brought this up to a different manager, who didn’t care. More than half of the shops are closed. 3. No buffet, after I was told they had one, The Carnival restaurant closed. 4. Costly food and snacks. 5. Room construction at 6:00 a.m., yes, they were using a handheld jackhammer to tear up the tile on the floor. I asked why 6:00 a.m., and they said they were not responsible for when the crew started. 6. Walls are thin, so be ready to hear your neighbor. I can handle the neighbors and expensive food because it is a casino. Still, the poor attitude and lack of customer service are unacceptable, considering the cost they charge for the rooms.
Great options available to customize the pizzas to ones taste. Their standard and make your own pizza options are great. Plenty of veg options to choose from as well.
The organization before Swedish House Mafia concert was a total disaster. People were waiting 2 hours in front of the club to enter, left without any explanation why if there was a dj already playing inside. Horrible experience. I recommend choosing a different club in Vegas for your party.
Lovely spa: very clean areas, quiet and peaceful, friendly front of house and back of house staff, massage staff was excellent and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the warm hot tub, steam sauna, and the dry sauna. I just wish the massage services were a true 50-minute experience, hands-on to hands-off. My experience was 50 minutes from waiting room, massage, and back to the waiting room.
Hard to get reservations. Loved the atmosphere here but I felt the music totally did not match the vibes. But other than that, food was great and service was amazing. Our waiter was so attentive and checked on us frequently. The oysters with cucumber snow was sooo good. And the fries were perfect not oily at all. Cute date night spot!
This casino really surprised me. I thought it would be run down like some other older downtown casinos and have near antique machines. Instead, it was clean and not crazy noisy like many other casinos. The staff were available, attentive, & friendly. They had a pretty good selection of video poker machines ( although still only the older varieties) (compared to most other casinos) and an excellent selection of slots. I would play here again! Many of the newer machines were here that I like. (Luxury Liner, Rich Little Pugs, etc. The casino atmosphere was not crowded I can't comment on the hotel as I only visited for the afternoon.
Concept is stupid. You have a server who, but the way clearly hates her job miserably asking you for your drink order, but you need to go to their little “food truck” to place your order, pay (and tip before trying anything) and then it gets bussed to you. Servers/ cooks didn’t have a lot of info regarding the menu, nor did they have any recommendations. Poke bowl is terrible - stay away. The tuna isn’t fresh and they add this spicy aioli sauce that doesn’t match. Sliders were okay, Philadelphia cheese steak was good. Their fries are winners.
We had celebratory dinner after getting married a mob style wedding piggy backed it with a mob style dinner. Amazing staff and super friendly the food was on point we had the 32oz tomahawk and the seafood tower for 2 and the strawberry shortcake cheesecake
Luisa is incredible! She is friendly, kind, helpful, and helps expedite food service. Although a little expensive, this restaurant was a great option for me as a conference attendee. They provided fast, delicious food, prepared fresh each morning. Their service is superb, you can tell the staff value helping others. They are also a great option for late night gelato, yum!
