Opium at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

Take a fantastical journey from Uranus to Las Vegas with a spectacularly peculiar flight crew. In-flight entertainment includes mesmerizing variety acts, raunchy comedy, and provocative numbers performed by some of the galaxy's most talented entertainers. It's difficult to describe exactly what's happening in front of you, but perhaps one Facebook enthusiast described it most accurately when he wrote, “Rocky Horror Picture Show met Buck Rogers and exploded in Captain Kirk’s pants.” It may be hard to describe, but it's certainly entertaining and hilarious.

Opium takes the sage at the Cosmopolitan Hotel on Wednesday through Sunday evenings at 7 PM and 9 PM. Be advised that this is a show for adults only.

I had an absolute blast at Opium! After enjoying Absinthe, I was eager to see if this show would be just as entertaining. It captivated me from start to finish, bringing plenty of laughs along the way. The performers were outstanding, especially the one with the jaw-dropping bubble act at the end. Having witnessed many variety performances, this particular act stood out as something truly novel. The show offers a unique interactive experience, and sitting right at the front made it even more engaging. Plus, the option to have pizza delivered straight to your seat? Count me in—who could ever refuse that? In summary, it was a fantastic outing. Don't miss out on dining at Superfrico before the show—it really completes the evening.

Opium in Las Vegas is a solid show that falls slightly below my favorite, Absinthe. The individual performances were impressive, but the overall flow of the show could use some improvement. Despite this, I still found the show to be very enjoyable and would consider seeing it again.

Recently saw Opium in Las Vegas and I must say, it did not disappoint. The lead "robot" lady was absolutely hilarious and the other acts were also very impressive. We went on a Wednesday night and ended up with upgraded seats, although I don't think there is a bad seat in the house considering it's a smaller venue. Highly recommend checking out this show, as long as you have a good sense of humor and aren't easily offended. 😂

What I Disliked

Opium is my go-to show in Vegas to bring my friends to. I've been five times now and every time is a different experience. One of my favorite acts is the cyr wheel performance titled "Saturn and his Ring". Watching him spin so fast on such a small stage is mind-blowing. I even had the pleasure of meeting the performer, Nick. The Bubble act is a unique combination of Mr. Rogers, Willy Wonka, and Bill Nye the Science Guy, all leading up to an incredible display of bubbles. And who can forget the straight jacket escape set to "No One" by Alicia Keys? It's a classic that always keeps me coming back for more. I also recently enjoyed the new Limbo act and a percussion/beatboxing trio that left me speechless. However, I do miss seeing characters like Skip, Captain Kunton, and the robot guy. The VIP couple's banana act and Venus the screeching plate spinner are always highlights of the show. If you're on the fence about seeing Opium, don't hesitate - just GO! It's an unforgettable experience that you won't regret.

Enjoyed the show very much. The talented performers that put on a raunchy undertone performance of excellent acrobatic and performing talents was just what we wanted that night. The hostess was great and the crowd was loving every minute.
