As a roller coaster enthusiast and thrill rider, I have to say that The STRAT thrill rides left something to be desired. Insanity was not worth it unless you enjoy spinning rides, X-scream was only worth it if you’re on the outside or in the first row, and Big Shot, while the best of the three, felt like any other big drop ride at a major park just with the added bonus of being 1,000 feet in the air. The $30 for one ride may not be worth it for everyone. I opted for the unlimited pass and found myself riding Big Shot 10 times in a row, as it was the most thrilling option for me. Overall, it was a fun bucket list item to check off, but I didn't find the rides to be as exhilarating as I had hoped.
Traditional - 5/10; strong taste. My companion enjoyed the strong flavor, but it wasn't to my liking. Calamari- 10/10. The spicy sauce was outstanding. The Calamari was truly top-notch. Margherita pizza- 9/10. The balance of flavors, cheese, and sauce was excellent. It could have used more basil though.
The LINQ Promenade in Las Vegas is a pleasant little walking plaza with a nice view of the high roller, along with bars, shops, and the selfie museum. The Christmas decorations add a lovely touch to the area. Situated between Linq and The Flamingo, there's also a fountain to enjoy during your visit.
Our experience at VooDoo Beach on 7/28/23 was disappointing. We had reserved and paid for a cabana from 12 pm to 6 pm, with the assurance from our server, Adrian, that it would be reserved for us until 6 pm. However, upon our return, we found that everything we had left in the cabana was gone, except for our shoes. We spoke with manager Brad Spencer, who did not take responsibility for the situation and offered various explanations for why the cleanup was done without addressing our concerns. Despite signing a document stating our cabana reservation time, there was no mention of it being cleaned if we were not present for the entire duration. When we raised the question of our belongings being discarded due to discrimination, Brad's response was unclear. He became defensive and refused to assist us further. The lifeguard who witnessed the situation was more understanding, but it was another manager, Luis Ceja from the hotel department, who ultimately offered a $100 food and drink credit as a gesture of goodwill. Unfortunately, Brad's handling of the issue left much to be desired and may deter us from returning to the Rio hotel in the future. While Luis Ceja's approach was commendable, Brad's behavior made us question his suitability as a manager. We believe that a competent manager should take responsibility for mistakes and provide appropriate compensation to customers who have pre-booked services. We hope that VooDoo Beach will strive for consistent service in the future and address customer concerns in a more professional manner. If we do return, it will likely be during the winter season, and we may opt to avoid using the pool area altogether.
Visited Exotics Racing in Las Vegas and it was the highlight of my trip. Racing some of my favorite cars was an absolute blast with the pedal to the metal. The professional drivers, including Hunter, Alex, and Lloyd, were amazing instructors. The only critique I have is not being allowed to use my Ray Ban metas (glasses with cameras) to record first person video of my driving experience. I was disappointed to miss out on capturing that footage, especially since we are already paying hundreds of dollars for the experience. Overall, a fantastic experience that I highly recommend.
Had an amazing dinner at BARDOT Brasserie! We celebrated our anniversary here and everything was fantastic! We ordered the French onion soup, beet salad, flounder, and duck fat fries. All the dishes were impeccable, especially the flounder with the croissant crust and the French onion soup. Our server, Rosie, was incredibly sweet, attentive, and friendly, making our dining experience even better. We would definitely return!
