Hitzville! Motown Review

The All Motown show was not what I expected. I anticipated a variety of artists performing all my beloved Motown hits. Instead, it featured the Duchess, an all-female group. Initially, I was very excited about the show. The performers did have impressive singing abilities and wore beautiful costumes that I admired. They did vocalize many of my favorite tunes, which was a nice trip down memory lane. However, the show didn't quite energize me to the point of dancing and singing along; it lacked that extra punch. Although the Duchess encouraged crowd participation and it worked for some, it didn't resonate with everyone, myself included. The venue, Alexis, was quite pleasant with comfortable seating and an inviting atmosphere, complete with candlelit tables. I was seated in the second row, which offered a great view. Service-wise, despite waiting a little too long for my drink, it was nicely made, not overly strong, just as I prefer. The staff were warm and welcoming. In closing, the Duchess performers were undoubtedly talented, and I feel the show deserved a fuller audience, though many seats were empty. While the performance was enjoyable, it didn't leave a lasting impression. Personally, I think a male guest performer with a strong voice could have added the missing spark. If I had known it was specifically the "Duchess All Motown" group, I might have been more informed before buying a ticket.

Whether you're a fan of Motown or just enjoy great music and entertainment, Hitzville should definitely be on your list of shows to see. It's surprising that the show isn't sold out every night because it's that good. After being in different locations on the Strip for the past 20 years, it's currently at the Rio. If you find yourself near the KISS mini golf, make sure to stop by the Duomo theater next door and grab your ticket. If Hitzville ever decided to do a Sunday brunch show like House of Blues' gospel brunch, I would be first in line with all my friends. Massive thanks to everyone involved for putting on such an amazing show!

I am a local resident of Las Vegas. I've known of this show for a while, first time I went this past Thursday, I took three friends with me, the four of us had a wonderful time we were dancing singing (well not me singing) All I can say is we had a smile on our faces the whole time the energy was great from the performers and the audience, they really seem like they were there to entertain us. I would definitely go back again and definitely refer people to see the show if they want to be entertained and listen to some fantastic music. Make sure you say hello to the GM her name is Tracy.
