JKBlackburn left a 5 star review for Top of the World

Apr 26, 2024 at 1:30pm

Our visit to Top of the World at the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas was truly remarkable. The food was delicious and the service was top-notch. One of the highlights of the restaurant is its unique revolving feature, giving diners a 360-degree view of Las Vegas throughout their meal. The experience was leisurely, allowing us to savor our food, enjoy dessert, sip on coffee, and take in the stunning views. I tried the steak and it was one of the best I've ever had. The cheesecake for dessert was also exceptional. Not to be missed is the opportunity to visit the open-air observation deck two floors above the restaurant, offering breathtaking views of the city skyline. I highly recommend visiting Top of the World for a memorable dining experience in Las Vegas.

JKBlackburn left a 2 star review for Elara by Hilton Grand Vacations

2024-04-25 23:03:01

Apr 25, 2024 at 11:03pm

We have stayed in a variety of hotels in Vegas each year, and unfortunately, Elara by Hilton Grand Vacations did not meet our expectations. There was initially some confusion with our room number, which was rectified after some back and forth. The room itself was decent with a comfortable bed, but the overall hotel felt outdated with amenities like a DVD box for movies. Additionally, the lack of room service was disappointing and the daily fees for valet and parking were quite high. One of our biggest issues was the lack of soundproofing in the rooms. We ended up in a joined room with noisy neighbors who played loud music and were disruptive late into the night. Despite multiple complaints to the front desk, the issue persisted throughout our stay. The lack of response from the staff was disappointing, although the valet service was friendly. There were limited food options in the hotel, and the poolside grill was only open during the summer. Overall, we did not have a positive experience and would not choose to stay at Elara by Hilton Grand Vacations again. There are better and more affordable options available in Vegas.

JKBlackburn left a 3 star review for Stanton Social Prime

My experience at Stanton Social Prime in Las Vegas wasn't the best. The service was incredibly slow, even though we had made reservations for 8, it took 45 minutes just to get our drinks. The food had interesting combinations, but our orders were not correct. The corndog crab cakes were a miss for me. The wine list had incorrect years listed, and the excuse of "it's a new year" in February didn't work. The meat was good but too salty, and the oysters were also overly salty and left unfinished by our table. Overall, I wouldn't choose to dine here again.

JKBlackburn left a 1 star review for Harrah's Las Vegas

2024-04-16 02:12:01

Apr 16, 2024 at 2:12am

Do not stay here. My experience at Harrah's Las Vegas was absolutely insane. The room I was initially given had a overwhelming chemical deodorizer smell that made my eyes water and my nose burn within minutes. I had to leave the room for almost 4 hours to let it air out, but it was still unbearable when I returned. Despite calling the front desk multiple times, they initially tried to offer me a $30 food and beverage credit to stay in the same room. I explained that I just needed a room I could actually use, but it took an hour of persistence for a housekeeping supervisor to inspect the room and agree it was too strong. Eventually, I was moved to a different room that was musty but much more tolerable. With the pervasive smoke smell and overwhelming odors in the guest rooms, I am puzzled as to why this place receives more than 2 stars.

My experience at The Spa at ARIA in Las Vegas was perfect. The service was impeccable and the massage therapist did an amazing job at taking away months of tension. I felt extremely relaxed and it was totally worth it. Thank you!

JKBlackburn left a 4 star review for Guy Fieri's Vegas Kitchen & Bar

2024-04-14 02:48:01

Apr 14, 2024 at 2:48am

Guy Fieri's Vegas Kitchen & Bar definitely knows a thing or two about serving up huge portions. The Cajun pasta was so large that I had to share it with two others. The burger was moist, flavorful, and had juicy meat that was just perfect. The wings were incredible, with a sauce that was spot on. The pulled pork meal took a whopping 47 minutes to finish, including the sandwich, fries, and coleslaw. However, the onion strings were a bit disappointing - they were dry, too hard, and overly spicy. Our server was laidback and got our order right, although he wasn't much of a talker. The food may be a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth it for the delicious experience!

JKBlackburn left a 4 star review for Jaleo

2024-04-13 02:39:01

Apr 13, 2024 at 2:39am

The cocktails at Jaleo in Las Vegas were excellent and the service was top-notch. Our server was very knowledgeable and patiently answered all of our questions. The Paella was a bit overrated, especially considering the price tag of $100 per plate. It would be more enjoyable if there was a more interactive preparation process. Be prepared to spend over $100 per person if you have a big appetite. The octopus was average, but a good option for those new to seafood. The Spanish bread with tomato sauce and the steak with peppers were delicious. The chicken and cheese fried dish was good, but a bit heavy, so it's best to order it earlier in the meal. Overall, I would come back to Jaleo for the drinks, service, and ambience.

JKBlackburn left a 3 star review for Luxor Pools

2024-04-12 22:06:01

Apr 12, 2024 at 10:06pm

My recent experience at Luxor Pools was disappointing. One of the pools was closed for remodeling and there was only one server for the entire pool area, leading to long wait times for drinks. The limited drink options at the bar were not clearly advertised, and the soda water served from a dispenser was flat and unappetizing. I found the pool menu to be lacking, more akin to a snack bar than a Vegas resort. There was no tap water available and no water dispenser nearby. Additionally, there were no pool attendants present to clean up leftover towels or trash left behind by guests. While I had a great time at a previous event at Luxor Pools, this recent visit left much to be desired. It is possible that the issues I encountered were due to covid restrictions, but improvements are needed for a more enjoyable pool experience.

JKBlackburn left a 3 star review for Gordie Brown

2024-04-08 21:42:01

Apr 8, 2024 at 9:42pm

The show was a bit of a mixed bag - not a complete failure, but not a complete success either. Unfortunately, there was a curtain failure on stage which forced Gordie Brown to perform the entire show on a 3 foot strip in front of the curtain. Despite the setback, he handled it well but it did detract from the overall experience. I probably wouldn't attend again.

Area 15 in Las Vegas is a great place to explore and is fun for all ages and groups. They have tickets for certain entertainment and it is recommended to look in advance for the items you want to adventure in. There are other buildings that are amazing to see but we ran out of time. The Omega Mart seems to be one of the best places to check out. I totally recommend it for 100 percent enjoyment.

Arts Factory in Las Vegas is an experience that defies description. The photos online just don't capture the magic of being there in person. It's like stepping into a living work of art, with something new to discover every time you visit. Watching the artists at work is truly inspiring. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in creativity. It's a must-see!

JKBlackburn left a 1 star review for Red Lotus Asian Kitchen

Apr 3, 2024 at 7:27pm

Red Lotus Asian Kitchen in Las Vegas serves basic take-away food at restaurant prices, with the option of receiving your meal in a paper box and plastic cutlery even if dining in. The duck fried rice I ordered had slimy skin and very oily rice that seemed to be reheated quickly. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant even if you are in a rush and desperate. It was truly unforgivable.

This was my third visit to Red Plate and once again everything was perfect! The lobster dish was especially outstanding, and I also loved the fish maw. I highly recommend trying the Chinese Clay Pot dish, as well as the delicious dim sum plates. Vicky, our server, was very kind and enhanced our dining experience. If you're in the mood for authentic and high-quality Chinese cuisine, I highly suggest checking out this restaurant.
