Area 15 | Las Vegas Attractions

Area 15 is free to enter and explore, but the various attractions do cost money.

A district of immersive experiences is the best way to describe Area 15 in Las Vegas, NV. Located just a short, one-mile drive from the Las Vegas strip, this entertainment complex is home to many unique games, sights, and activities you won't find anywhere else. Whether it’s your first visit to Las Vegas or you're a long-time local, Area 15 is a great place to spend the entire day or just a few hours.

Upon arrival, prepare to wander through the various worlds inside with mesmerizing realms. Activities include ax throwing, zip-lining, VR experiences, museums, and brain games, to name a few. Don’t worry about going hungry because there is plenty to eat here, too. Lastly, there is a one-of-a-kind boutique that is a great place to grab a few souvenirs.

The Oz Experience is an immersive VR experience that tests the boundaries between real and virtual. Guests love this 35-minute game that requires mysteries to be solved in teams of two or four. Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart is another fun interactive experience that features local and international artists. Participants are sent through secret portals, unexpected landscapes, and innovative art in a supermarket setting.

Another crowd-pleaser is the dueling axes which feature 18 throwing lanes. Guests can spend hours here on Friday and Saturday nights, but after 2 am, this space turns into an open-seating cocktail lounge.

Almost all activities at Area 15 are kid-friendly, but the Lost Spirits Distillery is a 21+ experience. It was named the “Willy Wonka of Booze” by Playboy Magazine for its immersive tour of spirits. Lost Spirits resembles a Disneyland-style amusement park for adults.

Be sure to secure an entry pass before your arrival, as they are required for all guests. Daytime entry is free; however, after 10 pm, access for those 21+ is $15. Save $5 on late-night entry by securing an entry pass before arrival.

We had heard so much about this place and wanted to visit for a long time; we weren't sure what to expect, but the futuristic, post-apocalyptic, artsy feel really attracted us because we are big Sci-fi nerds. It required tickets in order to enter, and extra tickets for certain places inside, so we decided to go to the bar/game emporium. It was definitely worth it! We celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday by going to Lost Spirits Distillery tour, which was even more special than just a tour. We had five tastings of rum, as well as live entertainment with a jazz band. It was really diverse and enjoyable. We are sure we will go back again!

Area 15 is an amazing experience! I visited Meow Wolf, and there was so much more to explore than I was expecting. Honestly, Area 15 was probably the highlight of my Vegas trip, even more so than The Strip. All the bars and restaurants had terrific prices for the quality and setting. I'd highly recommend everyone go at least once.

One of the coolest places in Vegas to explore. It can get expensive if you partake in all the activities, but you can easily kill 30 minutes to an hour just walking around and taking in the sights.

What I Liked Most

What I Disliked

I would highly recommend everyone visit Area 15 if you're in Vegas for more than a few days. After you've stumbled through all the casinos and typical Vegas sights, Area 15 is a totally unique experience that I have never found anywhere else. They have a bar where you can just grab drinks and hang out and a ton of activities. You will pay extra for almost everything here, but I can tell you that the Omega Mart experience is worth the price.

Probably the best photo ops in Vegas. If you're paying for a taxi or Uber then you will probably want to plan on paying for one of the attractions while visiting. It still a really cool place to hang out and see, but not something I would want to pay to get to and just walk around.
