Lee Canyon is located approximately 55 minutes from the center of the Las Vegas Strip in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest and Spring Mountains National Recreation Area. Visitors to Lee Canyon can partake in exciting snowboarding or skiing adventures in the winter months, or a plethora of outdoor activities during the summer, including hiking, axe throwing, disc golf, and archery. While the summer activities are certainly fun and offer beautiful scenery, it's the winter sports at Lee Canyon that really draw in the crowds.

For first-time skiers and snowboarders, Lee Canyon offers lessons and equipment rental. Experienced athletes can bring their own equipment and head to the slopes right away. The Snow Experience is the best value package at Lee Canyon and offers ski or snowboard equipment rental, a full-day pass, and an introductory lesson to show you the ropes. All of this can be had for only $129 per adult.

For the purposes of this review, I'll only be focusing on the lessons process at Lee Canyon. The reservation process was smooth online, making it easy to pick a date and time. It was clear that lift tickets were not included. I booked a private snowboarding lesson for myself and a Snow Kids session for my child. It was convenient that kids under 12 receive free lift tickets. Driving up to Lee Canyon was hassle-free, with highway patrol quickly waving us through. The roads were plowed, and despite signs indicating chains were required, it was not enforced. The parking area had been revamped to accommodate more cars, making it easy to find a spot. Obtaining lift tickets was straightforward, scanning a QR code at a kiosk to receive a reloadable card. The rental process, however, was long and inefficient due to understaffing. We waited 1.5 hours to get geared up, which almost made us late for our lessons. The lesson meet-up was well-marked, and the drop-off process for my child was easy. My instructor, Malcolm, was welcoming and patient. We discussed my experience and goals, and he provided clear explanations and demonstrations. Malcolm was encouraging and helped me improve my technique. He even introduced new skills like riding switch and navigating through trees. I had a fantastic time and learned a lot during our private session. Overall, I highly recommend private lessons with Malcolm. His instructive technique and rapport are excellent for both kids and adults. He made the learning process enjoyable and effective. I also want to thank Rylen for his kindness and patience with my child. Thank you to Malcolm and the team at Lee Canyon for a great experience!

We took a ride up on Christmas to see the area. We had never been there before. Not much snow yet. There wasn't much snow for those who were sledding. I don't think the ski lifts were open since hardly any snow. The next storm will probably bring plenty of snow.

A very enjoyable place. Renting equipment is simple enough and you can choose to either ski or snowboard. I took my children and we all had fun.

I live in Vegas and try to bring everyone that comes to visit us, to Lee Canyon. Wild horses and donkeys, mountain views, trees, and greenery, are all breathtaking. There is a restaurant and coffee shop. I like to take a ride on the ski lift but you can rent bikes and stuff too. I’m a nature girl and this is my oasis in the middle of the desert.

Las Vegas locals and visitors alike should take the time to escape Lee Canyon. Here, it's always significantly cooler than the valley In the summer, you can hike, mountain bike, and more. And, in the winter, you're able to ski and snowboard here. In the fall, the color changing leaves here are phenomenal.
